The
Academy for Teaching Excellence was established in the
college in 1997. Membership includes those FAES faculty members who
have received the Ohio State Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award or the
Gamma Sigma Delta Teaching Award of Merit.
This academy of scholars is charged to guide the college in developing
programs which celebrate and nurture an environment for teaching
excellence within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental
Sciences. It is the group that faculty can count on to assure that high
quality teaching is expected, that it is developed, cultivated and
nurtured, and that it is rewarded, celebrated, and valued.
The academy serves as the primary body for developing policy related to
academic instruction, and as an advisory group to the Senior Associate
Dean and the Price Chair for Teaching, Advising, and Learning.
