Gamma Sigma Delta eaching Award of Merit
The first chapter of the Gamma Sigma Delta (GSD) Honorary
Society of Agriculture started at The Ohio State University more than
100 years ago. Its mission is to promote and recognize eminent scholars
in teaching, research, service, and international activities. For many
decades, GSD has sponsored an award for teaching, which is given each
year to a qualified faculty member who is nominated by peers and
selected from among qualified nominees by a committee of previous
winners. Faculty who are awarded the GSD Teaching Award of Merit become
members of the College's Academy of Teaching. Academy members advise
and assist the holder of the Sanford G. Price and Isabell Price Barbee
Chair in Teaching, Advising and Learning in the development of
activities which promote excellence in the scholarship in teaching and
learning.
