Question: What were you able to accomplish that you might not have been able to do otherwise?

AH: Travel to Brazil to present research, extensive lab experience, graduating on time despite changing majors

Shannon Paice, Animal Sciences, 2008

Question: What did you like about the CFAES Honors Program?

SP: What I liked most about the honors program were the honors embedded and honors classes that were offered. The coursework was applicable, challenging and extremely beneficial. I remember more from my honors animal sciences class than any other class I have taken at Ohio State.

Annie Specht, Agricultural Communication / English 2008

Question: What were you able to accomplish that you might not have been able to do otherwise?

AS: I was able to forego an agricultural minor with my Ag Comm. major and instead complete a Bachelor of Arts in English

Sandra Zurbrugg, Food Science 2008

Question: What were you able to accomplish that you might not have been able to do otherwise?

SZ: Great research experience for going into grad school. I feel 10 steps ahead of the rest.

Jennifer Lynch, Animal Sciences 2008

Question: Why did you choose the Honors Program at OSU?

JL: The Honors Program at OSU allowed me to expand on my classroom knowledge. I consider it a great privilege to be able to do undergraduate research at a world-renowned University. It is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the real world outside of class. In addition, the Honors Program gave me the flexibility to create my own schedule. Priority scheduling came in very handy, especially with GEC classes and classes that filled up quickly.

Curtis Pittman, Animal Sciences, 2008

Question: What did you like about the CFAES Honors Program?

CP: The CFAES Honors Program allowed me to become close to multiple professors who mentored me. The program emphasized research, which will give me an advantage in graduate school.

Abbi Fickes, Animal Sciences 2007

Question: Did your honors research project influence your school or job decisions?

AF: Definitely. Through my research internship, I made a lot of contacts and learned a lot more about reproductive sciences. I now intend to get a doctoral degree in that field and will be doing my research at the same institution  I did my honors research.

Curtis Niedermier, Agricultural Communication 2007

Question: Describe what you will be doing after graduation.

CN: I have several potential positions in the communication industry, primarily outdoor communication (hunting/fishing) that I am pursuing at this time. They range from writing to public relations to association management.

Holly Hauser, Animal Sciences 2007

Question: Why did you choose the Honors Program at Ohio State?

HH: So I could schedule the classes that I needed to take to get into veterinary school in four years. I also received scholarship money by being a part of the honors program.

Sarah Luthman, Agricultural Education 2007

Question: What were you able to accomplish that you might not have been able to do otherwise?

SL: Had I not participated in the (program) I would have never taken the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research. This experience has given me a greater appreciation for conducting research and the research process.

Sarah McCready, Animal Sciences 2007

Question: Why did you choose the Honors program at Ohio State?

SM: I knew that if I was going to be entering such a large university, I would need a way to be less intimidated of the size. The Honors Program was a perfect way for me to do this, because it provided programming, housing and extra time with faculty and staff. I also loved the fact that honors students schedule early, which meant I would always be in my desired classes.
