Ambassadors Win National Award

Our College’s ambassador team was recognized for “Excellence in Recruitment and Retention” at the annual conference at North Carolina State University January 3-5. Nice work team.

The Ambassador Team

The CFAES Ambassadors make up a team of students that represent the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences for recruitment and industry relations purposes.

The team size ranges from 15 to 20 current students who are selected through an application and interview process during winter quarter.

Ambassadors are trained to provide campus tours (of our college's buildings). They enhance recruitment initiatives with the student touch.

Two new goals of our Ambassador Team are to help the Ohio State student body become more aware of our college and to be more involved in industry relations on behalf of its students.

The time commitment required of CFAES Ambassadors is as follows:

  • 1 hour every other week for meetings
  • 2 Saturdays per academic year (College arranged visit events)
  • 1 hour on 1 Friday afternoon per quarter to give CFAES tour
  • Flexible and volunteered time as needed to complete projects or initiatives
  • 1 yearly weekend retreat for training and team building
