Get Credit
Many students take courses in high school that they can use to earn college credit. The benefits of this option will . . .

  • Help you graduate early or on time.
  • Allow you to squeeze in an extra internship.
  • Let you to participate in more than one study abroad program.
  • Give you the flexibility to take additional courses that you would not have been able to take otherwise.

Advanced Placement

The two most common ways students earn college credit while in high school is through advanced placement (AP) courses or through taking actual college courses (in Ohio this is called the Post-Secondary Option).


Post-Secondary Option

The Post-Secondary Option courses transfer to Ohio State just as if you were transferring as a current university student.

  • Check out the course applicability system to see how classes you took at another university in Ohio match up with Ohio State courses.
  • Look at the Advanced Placement or CLEP test scores needed to earn Ohio State credit by visiting our Office of Testing Web site (click on Credit by Examination and scroll to the bottom).
