Dairy Cattle Production and Management at Ohio State ATI prepares you for hands-on careers in the dairy industry. In this Associate of Applied Science program, you’ll build technical knowledge in herd care and dairy operations while also developing the business skills needed to support a successful farm or dairy-related business. 

You’ll study the principles and daily practices that drive dairy production, including genetics, reproduction, milking, herd health and nutritional management. You’ll also learn how to use herd records and strengthen your understanding of agronomy, facilities, equipment, accounting and farm business management. This combination of animal care and business training helps prepare you to manage both the herd and the operation behind it

Build your skills with internships

Copy: Dairy Cattle Production ad Management students learn by doing. All dairy students complete supervised practical work experience that gives them the chance to apply the skills they build in the classroom and laboratory at the Ohio State ATI dairy. You’ll also complete a full-time industry internship. ATI helps you find internship opportunities in Ohio and in other states. 

Because Ohio State ATI is located in the heart of Ohio’s dairy industry, you’ll also have opportunities to connect with industry professionals and explore part-time employment while you’re in school.
