About this program
The Associate of Science in Animal Sciences provides a strong foundation for students planning to complete a bachelor’s degree with animal sciences in Columbus. Students complete 50 percent of the required coursework while choosing a specialization in animal biosciences, animal industries, or horse to align with their career goals.
Specializations
Animal Biosciences (pre-vet) at Ohio State ATI builds a strong foundation in animal health, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, genetics, immunology, behavior and welfare through hands-on learning with real animal systems. This specialization prepares students to complete early coursework at ATI before continuing to Columbus to finish a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and pursue pathways in veterinary medicine, graduate study, research or related animal health careers.
Animal Industries at Ohio State ATI gives students a hands-on foundation in livestock management, animal health, nutrition, genetics and production systems while completing early coursework toward an associate degree. Through farm-based learning and internship opportunities, students build practical skills for animal industries careers or continue to Columbus to complete a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences.
Horse specialization at Ohio State ATI gives students hands-on experience in horse management, health, nutrition, breeding and equine business and facility management while completing early coursework toward an associate degree. This pathway prepares students to continue to Columbus to finish a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences or another program with an equine minor.
