About this program
About
The Horticultural Science program provides a broad foundation in landscape plant materials, greenhouse production, and turfgrass management. Students complete 50 percent of the coursework required for a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and Crop Science while gaining hands-on experience in horticultural systems. Opportunities such as study abroad enhance learning through exposure to global horticultural and turf practices.
What can I do with this degree?
Degree outcomes
Graduates of the Horticultural Science program are prepared to support plant production and landscape systems across a variety of settings.
Graduates are prepared to:
- Identify and manage landscape plant materials
- Apply principles of greenhouse and turfgrass management
- Support sustainable plant production systems
- Evaluate horticultural design and maintenance practices
- Continue toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable Plant Systems
