The Ohio State University Department of Horticulture and Crop Science (HCS) is thrilled to offer scholarships of up to $10,000 for the top teams and top individual winners in the State FFA Agronomy and Floriculture Career Development Events (CDE).
Currently, these awards are available to top competitors in the State FFA Agronomy and Floriculture CDEs. Beginning with the incoming class of Autumn 2027, this opportunity will expand to include top teams and individuals from the State FFA Soils CDE.
Scholarship Amounts
Top 3 Teams (Agronomy and Floriculture)
- 1st Place Team Members: $10,000 scholarship per member
- 2nd and 3rd Place Team Members: $8,000 scholarship per member
(Note: Soils teams will become eligible beginning with new first year students starting in Autumn 2027 and beyond)
Top 10 Individuals (Agronomy and Floriculture)
- 1st Place Individual: $10,000 scholarship
- 2nd through 10th Place Individuals: $8,000 scholarship

Eligibility and Requirements
To claim and maintain a scholarship, winning students must meet the following criteria:
- Campus: Must enroll as a new first year student on the Columbus campus.
- Enrollment Status: Must be a full-time student directly enrolled in an eligible degree program.
- Eligible Majors:
- Horticulture and Crop Science
- Professional Golf Management
- Academic Standing: Must remain in good academic standing during the first year and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA (along with good academic standing) through the second year.

Funds are distributed equally across your first four semesters and will be applied directly to your Ohio State financial aid account. Please note that the final award amount may be adjusted depending on your total financial aid package from all sources.
