Campus Change

Let's get you transitioned to CFAES in Columbus

We’re here to guide you through the campus change process step by step. Review the requirements below and connect with your advisor early to ensure a smooth transition.

Getting started

Campus Change Requirements

To be eligible for campus change to the Columbus Campus, you must:

  • Earn at least 30 credit hours after high school graduation
  • Have a minimum 2.00 cumulative Ohio State GPA

Meeting these requirements ensures you are prepared for success on the Columbus Campus.

Step 1: Meet with your regional academic advisor

Before starting the campus change process, you must meet with your academic advisor at your regional campus. This meeting helps make sure you're on track and get the guidance tailored to your specific academic goals and major path.

Not sure who your advisor is?

Contact Ben Carignan, CFAES academic counselor and campus change coordinator.

Step 2: Register for Columbus Campus classes

You will register for Columbus campus courses through Buckeye Link.

Work closely with your regional campus advisor to:

  • Select appropriate courses
  • Stay on track for your major
  • Ensure your credits apply toward degree progress

Your regional advisor and Ben Carignan can also help connect you with an academic advisor in your intended Columbus major.

This step is critical to making a smooth academic transition.
