Apply for graduation
Turning in your graduation application by the deadlines below can help you get an earlier class registration window. It won’t affect getting into classes that are already full. When you apply on time, CFAES academic advisors can review your remaining semesters, flag any missing requirements, and help you stay on track. You can still apply after the deadline, but at a certain point in the term your graduation may need to be moved to a future semester. If you have questions about your graduation status, please email our office with questions.

Transcripts
Official transcripts can be ordered from the University Registrar
Consult with a College Academic Counselor to ensure the course will meet degree requirements. You will need to make arrangements to send your transcript to Ohio State upon completion. Notify cfaes-academics@osu.edu of any expected transfer credit in the term of your graduation for specific instructions. SENR students need to review their graduation requirements in SENR.
Commencement and rehearsal
Commencement dates and venue information is posted on the university's Commencement website. You will receive emailed updates from CFAES regarding commencement arrangements, rehearsal and other events.
Caps, gowns and your maize tassel can be purchased online. Undergraduate students wear a basic black gown and cap.
For majors in FAES, the tassel is maize (a bright shade of yellow). For students in SENR, the tassel is blue-green.
Complete the Commencement Excusal Form and submit it to CFAES Academic Affairs. The form notifies us of your absence and how you would like to receive your diploma. SENR students need to check with their advisors.
Rehearsal is important, but if you cannot attend you are still permitted to participate in commencement. However, please contact CFAES Academic Affairs if you will be unable to attend rehearsal. SENR students follow instructions specific to your school.
Students participating in graduation do not need tickets for themselves for commencement. Depending on the term and venue, tickets may or may not be required for your family and guests. Information on tickets can be found at the university's commencement website.
Graduation application
Submission guidelines are listed on the timeline above. While applications are accepted after these dates, you will miss out on the benefits of a timely application. No applications are accepted after the 10th week of the graduating term.
CFAES undergraduates can find the application to graduate available online. SENR students use the form available online for your school.

After your graduation application is submitted, it will be reviewed within 3-4 weeks. You will receive an email notification of approval and/or an email outlining any outstanding issues that will need to be addressed.
