Please welcome Eric Bode to CFAES, beginning March 17, as the college's senior fiscal officer. Most recently, he served as executive director for school finance with the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). His office will be located in 254 Agricultural Administration Building in Columbus.
Eric has 20 years of public service. Prior to ODE, he worked for several years with the Ohio School Facilities Commission, the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, and the Ohio Office of Budget and Management. He has worked extensively with the Ohio Controlling Board and has significant experience with state and federal funding agencies. He holds a master's degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University.
Eric's experience will be invaluable in advancing the college's stated intention of working more holistically. He'll work closely with financial staff across the college to understand the complex funding portfolios upon which we rely. Among his initial projects will be to tackle targeted projects related to our current financial resource models, especially the changing state of the instructional subsidy; to develop an ability to forecast the college's aggregate financial position under future resource scenarios; to make recommendations -- again, working with our financial team -- on the most effective financial systems for the college; and to develop a comprehensive financial reporting model that will keep college leadership apprised of the big picture of college fiscal health.
