James Anderson, an alumnus of Delaware County Ohio 4-H, currently works as a park naturalist for the Marion County Park District, but his time spent completing natural resource projects and showing livestock at the county fair sparked his interest in this career.
Through 4-H, Anderson also developed a strong foundation in public speaking, a skill that is essential in his line of work: “My whole career is based on public speaking. Without 4-H, I’m not sure where I would be today or if I would have the confidence to speak to large audiences.”
He continues to share his expertise and knowledge with youth by volunteering as a natural resources project judge at the Marion and Delaware county fairs, and at the Ohio State Fair.
