This innovative, state-of-the-art facility facilitates education in essential STEM fields and fosters workforce development for the diverse range of careers related to working in animal agriculture.
Students will have opportunities to gain hands-on experience with swine, equine, poultry and ruminants, and the public will have a chance to view the workings of modern livestock production.
This facility is integral to our vision for Waterman as enhancing research, teaching, and outreach activities relevant to industry and to people across the world.
The new Multispecies Animal Learning Complex bolsters Ohio State's ability to:
- offer interdisciplinary teaching and research opportunities in animal sciences, engineering, food science, human nutrition and health.
- foster innovation and create a new standard of excellence for animal-learning programs.
- provide space for Ohio State University Extension and Ohio 4-H youth development programs and events.
- welcome the public for tours that will include a public viewing area into the animal barns and interactive, educational displays.
