Tip 1. When is it time to plant those veggies? Wondering when you can finally get out there and plant those tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables in you garden this year? Erik Draper, an assistant professor and an Ohio State University Extension Commercial Horticulture Educator with the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University (CFAES), says generally, its best to wait until after Memorial day before planting tender annuals such as tomatoes, peppers and green beans. Draper, who can discuss planting and soil temperatures, can be reached at draper.15@osu.edu.
