Cecilia Chagas de Freitas was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. She received two of her degrees from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (B.Sc. in Agronomy and M.S in Plant Pathology). She is a Graduate Student in Dr. Chris Taylor’s laboratory. Her work focuses on Agrobacterium rhizogenes biology and control, trying to understand genes responsible for disease development and the disease management on hydroponically grown tomatoes using beneficial bacteria belonging to the genus Pseudomonas.
