Leading Through Understanding: LBGTQ Identities

May 2, 2018 (All day)
Location:
4-H Building, 2201 Fred Taylor Dr., Columbus, OH 43210

Diversity can come in many forms - one of which is sexual orientation and identity. However, this is also one of the hardest to acknowledge and feel comfort with when you do not have a thorough understanding of how to interact with someone who identifies differently than you do. This workshop will help the participant become more familiar with the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.

The objectives will be to:

  • Explore basic terms and vocabulary
  • Distinguish between sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression
  • Explore ways to empower those with LGBTQ identities and to create safe interactions

This workshop is for anyone that is interested to become more knowledgeable about LGBTQ identities in order to create a more inclusive and accepting environment in their workplace, community, or just to improve personal interactions

Dr. Mary Rodriguez is facilitating this workshop.

Please note, if you are unable to attend you may send someone else in your place. Cancellations made prior to the day of the workshop will be refunded minus a $5 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for no-shows/cancellations the day of the workshop. Certificates of participation are available for individuals seeking professional development hours.
