Now You’re the Boss SOLD OUT
“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good [people] to do what he/she wants done, and self-restraint to keep from meddling with them while they do it.” -Theodore Roosevelt
Congratulations, you’re advancing in your career. Yesterday, you were a co-worker with your peers, and now you’re their boss. You are now responsible for the development of your former co-workers and the success of your department.
What do you need to do to make a successful transition to your new position? What pitfalls may you be facing? Do you know everything that is expected of you? What have you done to prepare for your new position?
Participants in this workshop will:
- Create strategies to make a successful transition from co-worker to boss
- Identify what to do first as the new boss
- Identify tools you can use to ensure your success in your new position
Facilitated by Tom Stewart and Beth Flynn, this workshop is vital for people who are in a new leadership role, aspiring to advance their career, or as a refresher for current bosses. Tom is an adjunct professor in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership, and retired from WBNS Channel 10 TV as the General Manager.
