Webinar: Caregiving and Compassion Fatigue

OSU Extension Educator, Patrice Powers-Barker, is partnering with The Ohio Council on Family Relations (the state affiliate of the National Council on Family Relations) to co-present a webinar on the topic of Caregiving and Compassion Fatigue. This is open to all - those who care for family members/friends as well as professionals who work with/as caregives as part of their career. Goals:

  • to define the prevalence of caregiving among age, gender and racial groups
  • to identify and share how values may influence caregiver behaviors
  • to define compassion fatigue
  • to identify characteristics of compassion fatigue to help professionals as well as formal & informal caregivers recognize & deal with it
  • to provide personal and community resources that may alleviate the stress of caregiving
