    Ippolito appointed as the Dr. Rattan Lal Endowed Professor at Ohio State

    COLUMBUS, Ohio–James A. Ippolito has been appointed to a five-year term as the Dr. Rattan Lal Endowed Professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). Throughout his career, Ippolito has held various academic and research positions, including his most recent role as a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Colorado State University (CSU). He has also served as a research soil scientist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS).     Patricia Brundige, a generous benefactor and life-long supporter of Ohio State University Extension and Ohio 4-H youth development, received a national 2023 Friend of Extension Award from Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) at its annual conference in Billings, Montana. ESP is the largest organization of Extension professionals. Brundige, of Dublin, Ohio, has been generous with her vision, talent, and funding to benefit The Ohio State University and especially the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), home to OSU Extension with its offices in all 88 Ohio counties.     LONDON, Ohio (Sept. 22, 2023) - More than 116,786 attendees made the trip to the Molly Caren Agricultural Center this week for the 61st annual Farm Science Review and left with new products, new ideas and new connections.     COLUMBUS, Ohio–The Ohio State University Foundation is pleased to announce that Palomino Solar, a subsidiary of Innergex Renewable Energy has made a generous donation to support Ohio State University Extension’s iFarm Immersive Theater through the purchase of and funding maintenance of the iFarm Immersive Theater. The theater’s mobile structure, designed by OSU Extension, the outreach arm of The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), gives viewers the opportunity to participate in multiple immersive agricultural experiences.     Ohio 4-H youth development will be one of the first 4-H programs in the nation to offer high school students a work ethic certification. Designed by Mike Rowe, best known as the host of television’s Dirty Jobs, the work ethic curriculum will be offered under the Ohio 4-H Pathways to the Future initiative.     LONDON, Ohio (July 13, 2023) - Farm Science Review inducted three individuals who have supported the show in numerous capacities into its Hall of Fame Wednesday night at its annual recognition banquet. Kevin King, Ben Overholser and John K. Victor were recognized as the 2023 honorees. Kevin King, of Westerville, Ohio Kevin King got his start with Farm Science Review in his early years as a student in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. “In the spring of 1978, I started working for Farm Science Review as a student employee out at Don Scott Airfield when the show was out there,” said King.
