Two upcoming programs will give you ideas for moving your work forward — through innovation, new funding or both. Here are the details.
April 13: A New Approach to Ag Research Funding
Sally Rockey, executive director of the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, will present “A New Approach to Ag Research Funding” from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, in Room 200 of the Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering Building in Wooster, with a video link to Room 460 Kottman Hall in Columbus.
Rockey will talk about the foundation, the challenges in starting it, the scientific challenges ahead, and the opportunities for researchers and others with OARDC to become involved with the foundation. She grew up in Ohio, has all her degrees from Ohio State and says she’s looking forward to speaking with her fellow Buckeyes.
A limited number of individual times to meet with Rockey are available. For more information about the event or to reserve one of those individual time slots (which are 15 minutes long), contact Loren Harper in the OARDC Director’s Office, firstname.lastname@example.org, 330-263-3703.
May 12: Innovate Extension
The 2016 Innovate Extension program is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in the Ohio Union on the Columbus campus. The program is a follow-up to Ohio State’s university-wide Innovate Conference 2016, set for May 11 in the same location.
Innovate Extension’s objectives are:
- To provide a daylong work session for innovative program planning.
- To provide a fun environment conducive to creative thinking.
- To inspire teams and individuals to update programs, change the way they work or develop solutions to organizational challenges.
- To provide Extension staff an opportunity to present new ideas and solutions to colleagues and administration.
