  1. CFAES’s Endeavor Center, located at the OSU South Centers in Piketon, recently received Ohio State’s Distinguished Community Engagement Award. In doing so it becomes the university’s nominee for next year’s national Magrath University Community Engagement Award.

  3. CFAES welcomes Cynthia Torppa as director of OSU Extension’s Northwest Region; and, starting July 1, Kirk Bloir as interim associate leader of the Ohio 4-H Youth Development program.

  1. Congratulations to Rattan Lal of the School of Environment and Natural Resources. He’s the new president-elect of the 16,000-member International Union of Soil Sciences.

  2. Jim Harper’s life has taken him far — from World War II to Purdue, Wisconsin to Ohio State, CFAES to New Zealand and back. Recently, he was honored by his first alma mater.
