CFAES administrators recently announced the following staffing changes.
Thom Janini, interim ATI director
Thom, who has been an associate professor and chair of ATI’s Arts, Science and Business Division, received very broad support during the nomination process, and I’m grateful for his willingness to provide leadership while we undertake the search for the next director.
Please join me in congratulating Thom on his appointment.—Acting CFAES Dean Ron Hendrick
Brian Raison, Extension field specialist
I am very pleased to announce that Brian Raison has been selected for the position of Extension field specialist, community and organizational leadership development, and will begin on May 1 pending approval by Ohio State’s Board of Trustees.
In this new role, Brian will address a full range of responsibilities in teaching, research and service as he identifies new programmatic relationships with faculty and staff throughout Ohio State and beyond. In addition to advancing existing efforts in co-discovery with partners such as the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, County Commissioners’ Association of Ohio, Ohio Tourism Association, and Ohio Township Association, he will also identify and address new opportunities for community- and organization-focused engagement involving leadership.
The position includes a partial appointment in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership, which will enable Brian to engage students in applied research and community service as well as participate in resident instruction. He will be co-located with the Greene County Extension office as of May 1.
Efforts are currently underway to fill Brian’s pending vacancy as Extension’s Community Development educator and county director in Miami County.—Greg Davis, OSU Extension, Community Development
