Biography:
Charity Troyer Moore is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics at The Ohio State University and Scientific Director – India for Inclusion Economics at Yale University. After receiving her Ph.D. from Ohio State, Dr. Troyer Moore moved to India and started Evidence for Policy Design India.
Dr. Troyer Moore’s research examines how the design and implementation of public policies can address inequalities within households and communities to promote equitable economic opportunities for marginalized groups. She also studies the ways in which information and incentives interact within bureaucracies to influence service delivery to marginalized populations, and she has conducted research to better understand difficult-to-measure features of informal institutions and bureaucratic function. Along with her research, Dr. Troyer Moore has developed long-term research-policy engagements in India, led by the team at Inclusion Economics India Centre, that aim to support policy decision makers with data and evidence. She also worked with government officials as part of capacity building work she developed while working at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Evidence for Policy Design.
