A team of Alabama A&M University students, faculty and staff, alumni and other community supporters are in the final stages of preparation for the investiture ceremony of the 147-year-old institution’s 12th president, Dr. Daniel K. Wims on Friday, April 29, at the Thomas M. Elmore Building at 10 a.m.
Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership
Rafael Landaverde, graduate associate and doctoral student in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) at the Ohio State University, has received the University’s Presidential Fellowship.
We are happy to share that Dr. Aaron B. Wilson, Research Scientist with the Byrd Center and State Climate Office of Ohio and Ohio State University Extension Climate Specialist, has been selected as the Chapter Lead for the Midwest Chapter of the U.S. Global Change Research Program's Fifth National Climate Assessment(https://bit.ly/3BeHHwS). This report analyzes the present and projected impacts of global change on key sectors and regions of the U.S. To date, four NCAs have been released, the most recent in 2018.
NAADA is a volunteer-driven organization governed by an elected Board of Directors. The Board of Directors sets the strategic direction for NAADA through the annual workplan. The 12 standing committees, ad hoc committees, and track representatives lend their expertise and experience to the issues, programs and governance that keep the association vibrant in its service to members and the industry. Join us in congratulating Summer McLain as the 2021 ACEL Distinguished Graduate Student for the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University. McLain was selected by the faculty and staff of the department for her excellence as both a graduate associate and graduate student. In her nomination, faculty noted “She is eager to learn about research methods and has supported two projects for our faculty, where she has been motivated, organized, and taken on any task assigned to her seriously and without complaint.
Dr. Mary Rodriguez, assistant professor of community leadership, has been elected president-elect of the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education (AIAEE) for 2021-2022. She will take over leadership of the organization at the 2022 annual conference, which is scheduled to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece in April 2022.
Join us in congratulating Dr. Mary Rodriguez who has been promoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure. This process was approved by the Ohio State Board of Trustees at their May 2021 meeting. Rodriguez joined the ACEL faculty in 2015 as an assistant professor of community leadership and teaches a variety of courses in extension education in developing countries, nonformal methods of teaching and research methods. Her research covers women and community development, community food security and community leadership! Congratulations Dr. Rodriquez!
