Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR)

Droplet Digital PCR worlflow

ddPCR: Workflow

The Bio-Rad QX200 Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) system enables absolute quantification of nucleic acids without the need for standard curves. PCR reactions are partitioned into thousands of nanoliter-sized droplets, where amplification occurs independently. Following amplification, droplets are analyzed for fluorescence, and target concentration is calculated using Poisson statistics to provide highly precise and sensitive measurements.

Additional information about the QX200 system and experimental setup can be found on the Bio-Rad website and in the ddPCR application guide.

If you are interested in using ddPCR for your project, please contact MBGC staff to discuss your application and get started.
