Rates & Operations
MBGC operates as a cost-recovery (break-even) core facility. Service rates are based primarily on direct operational costs, including consumables, reagents, and instrument usage. Personnel support for MBGC operations is supported in part through institutional funding. All revenue generated through MBGC services is reinvested within The Ohio State University to maintain and expand core capabilities.
Rates listed apply to internal Ohio State University users. External and industry users may be subject to different rates in accordance with university policies. Industry-sponsored projects are generally charged at twice the internal rate.
